Dr. Huiyao Wang studied Physics at the Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China and graduated as MS in 1993. He then joined the research group of Prof. Tianmin Wangin the Department of Material Science at the Lanzhou University. He received his PhD degree in 1998 at the same University. After two years postdoctoral fellowship and several research associate works, he obtained the position of an Associate Professor at the New Mexico State University. He has published more than 40 research articles in SCI journals.

Joined the Chemical Engineering Department in Fall 2012. The primary focus of our research is the design, synthesis, and evaluation of nanomaterials for various medical applications. This includes self-assembled chemistries, nanoparticles, nanotubes, and nanostructured surfaces. Medical applications include inhibiting bacteria growth, inflammation, and promoting tissue growth. Tissues of particular interest are bone, cartilage, skin, nervous system, bladder, cardiovascular, and vascular. There is also an interest in anti-cancer applications where nanomaterials can be used to decrease cancer cell functions without the use of pharmaceutical agents. There is also a large interest in developing in situ sensors which can sense biological responses to medical devices and respond in real time to ensure implant success. Lastly, there is an interest in understanding the environmental and human health toxicity of nanomaterials.

He held three Post Doctoral Research Fellowships at the University of South Carolina (USA), Wichita State University (USA) and the University of the West Indies (1996-1999). He has also won several international awards, amongst them are Chartered Chemist, CChem and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, FRSC, UK. His research interests are broad, covering the spectrum of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. He has published over seventy (70) research articles, five book chapters and presented at several international conferences. He is currently Professor in Chemistry at the University of Guyana (South America)

Dr. Burguet studied Mining Engineering at Oviedo University, Spain. She received her PhD degree in 2016 at the same institution. She works as an engineer, in the design, construction and management of energy and water treatment projects, since 2005, in companies such as Biodis Engineering Swiss, Monofuels, Suez or Ence. Jorge Xiberta Bernat holds a Master's degree in Chemistry (University of Barcelona, Spain, 1967) and a PhD in Chemistry (University of Oviedo, Spain, 1972). At the University of Oviedo he was appointed Full Professor of Physical Chemistry (1974), Professor of Thermal Engines (1994) and Professor Emeritus (2016). He has participated in 11 EC research projects (1983-2009) and 30 Spanish projects (1983-2010). Financed by the EC, he has directed in Spain the "Energy Plan for the Principality of Asturias 1995-2005" (Regional and Urban Energy Plan, XVII, EC) and the Energy Agency ASTURENER (SAVE II, DGXVII, EC) from 1997 to 2000. He is author of over 50 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and other publications. José Pablo Paredes Sánchez received the Ph.D. degree in energy engineering from the University of Oviedo, Spain. He is a lecturer with the Energy Department, University of Oviedo. He is the author or coauthor of papers and conferences presentations on renewable energy and energy efficiency. He has been associated with renewable energy projects of the Oviedo Higher Technical School of Mining Engineering. He is also involved in research programs for updating renewable energy and energy-efficiency research, and higher education.

Dr. Nataliya Pryadko, is a leading researcher in the Department of Thermogasdynamic of Energy Plant of Institute of Technical Mechanics of NASU, Ukraine. She has worked in the field of mineral processing and nanotechnology of jet grinding for 14 years. She has authored for more than 150 publications and holds 15 issued patents. Dr Genadiy Strelnikov is a professor and director of the Department of Thermogasdynamic of Energy Plant of Institute of Technical Mechanics of NASU, Ukraine. He has worked in the field of rocket engine technology for 40 years. He has authored for more than 160 publications and holds 25 issued patents. Currently, he is the Scientific Leader for three major research projects from the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, the research group is focused on the development of various ground nanomaterial applications and modification of jet grinding technology.
